Description
Dr. Baldwin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia, her Master of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University, and her Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Baldwin has spoken at international and national conferences, focusing on working with families with children who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and families who have a service member who is the Special Forces. Additionally, she has coauthored a chapter in a graduate textbook. She has taught at Old Dominion University in the Human Services Department since 1995 and has received the “Inspirational Professor of the Year” award. Her parents were born and raised in Norfolk and chose to retire in Virginia Beach. Dr. Baldwin moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1975 and has not left! She has been married for over 35 years and has three grown children and three grandchildren. In her free time, one might find her on the jet ski, enjoying the beach, or having a quiet dinner with family and friends. Her husband is a twenty year Navy veteran and her father served during WW II and retired from the Army Reserves. This extensive military background provides the depth of knowledge necessary working with the military community. Dr. Baldwin is excited to be able to bring her wealth of experience to helping families and individuals who are facing challenges in there lives. Foundational to her life, and her practice is a strong faith that fosters hope for change and healing.
